For a horsey friend I am very pleased to be able to work on another different type of work which reminds me that I am able to turn my hand to a different subject. Using my traditional style of painting in watercolour with detail and accuracy I have the challenge of not only angles and perspective, but keeping the work within a smaller area that I’m not used to working within.
This commission is also for a very special reason. Like a pet portrait it is a memory of something special. This cottage is where my client was brought up. Her Nan’s cottage. This painting will be hung with two other watercolours she has acquired from antique fairs near to where the cottage is in Wiltshire. I hope when all this Covid-19 is under control we will be able to visit the cottage so I can see it as it is now.
