Thank you Phillipa for commissioning me to do your mum’s old faithful ‘Flight’. It was great to meet both your mum and Flight when I managed to visit to take some photos to try and improve on what you had. Although your mum knew I was painting Flight and sent her a copy of the drawing before I started painting, I was so glad I didn’t send her any more updates because the photos didn’t do the painting justice as I found out she wanted a surprise on Christmas Day. It was so lovely when you let me know that your mum was really pleased and had said it felt like Flight was in the room with her. Such a lovely testimonial to receive.
